 Sometimes within a moment you have a unique experience that implants itself into your mind. This occurred while I was reviewing a quote that I had read earlier in the morning by George Washington Carver. This is what he said: “I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting system through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.”
When I read these words a mind movie flashed back to a very special encounter of two months ago. It occurred while I was sitting in my home office, broadcasting a special morning show. While talking and looking out of my office window I watched in amazement as a bald eagle flew over the treetops, dipping down very low into our backyard. Then just as suddenly it gracefully moved its powerful wings, rising and flying over our roof. The sight of this magnificent bird nearly took my breath away. We never see eagles in our yard! What a gift!
Within minutes, to my astonishment, the eagle reappeared flying with wings totally spread out. It flew horizontally, directly in front of my office window, its wingtips almost touching the glass as it went by. This great bird seemed to look me directly in the eye, making contact I never dreamed could ever happen to me. This phenomena happened within seconds.
Every one of us goes through challenging times and I was going through one of my own at the time I had this powerful experience. After seeing the eagle I knew that I had to make some changes regarding my daily broadcasts. When this particular event occurred I knew that it would evolve in a way that would work out for the best and it has.
A number of years ago, a wonderful teacher, Rev. Floyd Humble said in one of his classes if one just pays attention to nature she’ll tell you what you need to know. His down to earth wisdom holds truth to this day.
We rush, rush, rush through our daily lives. One can feel trapped, exasperated, lonely, confused. However, when you take time to just be still, turn on your senses and be alert nature will inspire you in unexpected ways. Her wisdom and insight will make you aware that there are seasons, cycles that must occur. Everything has its own rhythm including our lives. Be patient with yourself.
I would wish for you as we enter the season of summertime that you may look into the eye of an eagle and know that you are a unique person meant to share your talents, love and insights in this experience of life. And, just like the eagle, the sky’s the limit. Reach for your power, explore and soar into your possibilities.

Mustard-Rubbed London Broil
This is a great recipe that can be used for top round beef steak orLondon broil. Fast, easy and delicious!
2 Tbls. Country-style Dijon mustard –
4 tsp. steak seasoning –
2 tsp. fennel seeds, crushed –
2 1/2 lbs London broil, about 1 inch thick –
sliced scallions (optional) or grilled sliced onions.
If using a broiler position rack about 4 inches below heat source, preheat. In bowl combine mustard, steak seasoning and fennel; rub over both sides of meat. Broil, turning once, about 8-10 minutes per side for medium-rare. After broiling let meat sit for a while, about 5 minutes, so juices stay in.
If grilling, use same procedure over your direct heat for same amount of time.
