“The road to success may be, and generally is, obstructed by many influences which must be removed before the goal can be reached.”
~~Napoleon Hill
The trilogy, Lord of the Ring, is such a wonderful classic. It speaks to the mind, heart, imagination and spirit of life. It tells of the challenges, dark moments, love, daring, courage, faith, friendship and so many other aspects of life. Dear Frodo is, in my mind, the epitome of the human spirit always doubting himself. Yet, with the support of friends, a willingness to learn, deep commitment and determination, he reaches into the depths of himself and faces his greatest fears to conquer the demon that would destroy the world. None of this was easy.
Daily we all deal with demons of our own special nature just like our ancestors. Every generation does. Each has its own costuming and settings, that’s the only difference. As words paint pictures let’s change the word demon to fear.
Just in the past month I was going through some challenges that I needed some help with. I called a friend, who I can always depend upon for clarity, and discussed my frustrations. She asked me a direct question, “What is your fear that is blocking you?” I tried my darnedest to come up with an answer and found nothing was surfacing. I couldn’t put a word or description to her question. She then said, “When you can answer that question you’ll know what your block is.”
That evening prior to going to sleep I asked the question, “What is blocking me?” My subconscious created a dream experience that jolted me awake with these words ringing in my mental ears. “Tolerance for that which is unacceptable!” I immediately wrote the words down. As I was writing, memories of past experiences came flooding up and out of my mind, one right after another. It was as if flood gates opened, releasing from my mind’s dam, memories, a flooding of insight and wisdom totally unexpected. It was a major breakthrough.
Each and every one of us have individual storehouses of experiences. No one else can know them as we have lived and experienced them. Developing the understanding of who and what we really are is a major challenge and just like Frodo we’d rather not be bothered with it all yet we still must walk the course.
To have ‘breakthrough’ in life we must face our fears. Like mold on a piece of fruit, fear or fears will subtly, slowly but very carefully cover our mind’s clarity eventually draining all of our hopes and dreams; eventually disintegrating and consuming the possibilities of achievement. Only when, like Frodo, we are willing to face our demon/fear, putting it into its rightful place can we know ourselves.
Have a dynamic life and know that you have great power in your unique individuality.

Power Thought for May
“I do not ask of God that he should change anything in events themselves, but that he should change me in regard to things, so that I might have the power to create my own universe, to govern my dreams, instead of enduring them.” ~~Nerval
(~.~) May's Chuckle (~.~)
One evening, an 80-year-old farmer decided to go down to his pond as he hadn’t been there for a while, and look it over. He grabbed a five-gallon bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee. As he came closer he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond. He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end.
One of the women shouted to him, “We’re not coming out until you leave!”
The old man frowned, “I didn’t come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked.” Holding the bucket up he said, “I’m here to feed the alligator.”

GOLDEN NUGGETS
True Stories About Real People
A father, an artist, had a little girl. Often while he was deeply involved in creating his own works of art his daughter would be sitting on the floor of his studio, busily occupied with her crayons and coloring books.
Though busy, he frequently would stop for breaks, putting down his brushes and pick up his little girl, encouraging her to hold his paint brushes, and then patiently and gently, guide her tiny hands showing how to mix colors and apply them to the surface of the canvass in front of them. She loved these moments when together they created beautiful pictures.
This caring father didn’t realize the difference these moments would make in his daughter’s life after a tragedy caused her to become a quadriplegic. Today Joni Tada paints. She paints with a brush in her mouth, inspiring others to reach past their limitations and live life to the fullest.
Sometimes that’s all it takes to make a difference in someone’s belief in their talents. A moment here, a moment there and one day it all comes together creating a beautiful picture.
