A short time ago I was in Austin, Texas. My hotel room was on the twelfth floor. One evening at sunset, not busy with clients, I decided to do some reading at a desk in the room. The desk faced a huge bay window. I pulled back the sheers that covered the window and the view was awesome. There was no end to the Texas horizon.
Mother Nature was putting on a special performance. The sky was ablaze with fiery reds, oranges, and golds that streaked, moved across the Texas sky. The symphony of colors was spectacular. I found I was holding my breath just taking in the beauty of the moment. All too soon it was dark. Where just a short time before the sky was filled with color, now the view was filled with Austin's bright city lights and millions of twinkling stars for as far as the eye could see and beyond. So much change in such a short period of time and each change held the image of unlimited horizons and beauty.
'The Sky's the Limit'. That theme ran through my mind as I looked at the unending panorama before me. There is no limit to the possibilities of life, opportunity, experience and fulfillment of one's dreams. How often have we bought into our lives other people's opinions, assessments without examining our options of choice?
Example. A young relative of mine, a teenager, loves art. Her passion
was to do it for a living. Over and over again members of the family
would say, "You'll starve to death. No one can make a good living as an
artist! Become a secretary, learn to type, work on the computer. Do
something practical. Be realistic. Stop dreaming."
When she told me of her desires I told her that not only could she make
an excellent living as an artist (probably earning more than her
parents) but she could go to a college that would give her a degree and
prepare her for working in the business market place successfully. To
back up my information we took a trip to the college and she had the
chance to find out the facts for herself. She gained a whole different
view of herself and the opportunities available to her. The choices
were there for her to choose from. She just needed to be aware of them.
Austin is an another example. When I was on the ground floor of the hotel, my view of the city was extremely limited. However, when up on the twelfth floor it was far more expansive and open. Each level had its value and view. So it is with your dreams, aspirations, desires. Be willing to look at different angles, levels, talk to people, and ask questions. You might find that the Universe has some very 'special' ways of bringing to you your heart's desire that you would never think of.
Whatever you do, don't give up your dreams! Your desires are yours because you have a unique place in this experience of life and you are meant to fulfill them. Discouragement, disappointment can be leverage to move you to new heights of opportunity and self-discovery. Pull back those mental drapes and open the mind, emotions and inner self to those unlimited horizons that are waiting to be seen and discovered.
Here we are in a new century. New ideas, actions and opportunities await you. You are never too young, too old, too anything to open yourself up to life's ever changing expression. This is your life, take charge. Life demands participation if we expect success but don't forget.enjoy your journey.

"LOVE MAKES A DIFFERENCE"
A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards
sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said, "I
don't think I know you but you must be hungry. Please come in and have
something to eat."
"Is the man of the house home?" they asked.
"No", she said. "He's out."
"Then we cannot come in", they replied. In the evening when her
husband came home, she told him what had happened. "Go tell them I am
home and invite them in!" The woman went out and invited them in.
"We do not go into a house together." they replied.
"Why is that?" She wanted to know.
One of the men explained. "His name is Wealth", he said pointing to
one of his friends and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and
I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband
which one of us you want in your home."
The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was
overjoyed. "How nice!" He said. "Since that is the case, let us
invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!"
His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?"
Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the
house. She jumped in with her own suggestion. "Would it not be better
to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!"
"Let us heed our daughter-in-laws advice," said the husband to his
wife. "Go out and invite Love to be our guest."
The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love?
Please come in and be our guest."
Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other two also
got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success,
"I only invited Love, why are you coming in?"
The old men replied together, "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the
other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love,
wherever he goes, we go with him.
Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!!!
