"Opportunities are seldom labeled". Author Unknown
This quote I came across today while preparing this editorial. It really pushed a mental button within me and sparked a lot of thoughts.
Just yesterday I was busy with shopping, taking care of home duties and various other activities. While out and about I frequently found my mind paying attention to what was going on around me. When in stores I observed the various products on display, the people working, the customers buying. I found various items that would help me in the home, entertain and feed family or friends, educate myself or be a gift for someone special, fix or enhance my auto and much, much more. While driving home I noticed the variety of homes of different size, style and color and the many different apartments/condominiums. The only limitations I could see was dependent on the thinking of the person or persons who designed, produced or developed them.
A 100 years ago only 8,000 people had telephones. A three minute call from Denver to New York City cost eleven dollars, one in ten U.S. adults couldn't read or write and only 6% of all Americans graduated from high school. Crossword puzzles, canned beer, and iced tea hadn't been invented; and the average U.S. worker made between $200-$400 per year.
50 years ago, the sci-fi images of communicating with watches, cell phones, computers was deemed impossible. Today we take them all for granted. In fact, we get irritated when they don't work fast enough, don't do enough or are too complicated to use. Amazing to say the least and we have no idea where all of this will take us."Infinite Possibilities!"
There is absolutely no limitation to what can be achieved in any area of life. Here we are today living with phenomenal lifestyles that a century ago would have seemed just a dream. It is through the resourcefulness of mind, imagination, planning and action we are able to enjoy healthier, richer, more educated and mobile lifestyles that most of the world still dreams and hopes for.
The word 'infinite' means immeasurably great and 'possibilities' means something that can or may exist, happen, be done, be used, etc. These are two powerful words that when we apply them to ourselves we realize that we too, are unlimited in our world.
Where do you see yourself in a year, two or five? What dreams fill your heart and mind that you want realized? Do you sit back occasionally and ask "If I had all the money I wanted, the time and the freedom to do anything I desired what would I do? What would I choose to focus my attention on?
You are the most powerful person in your experience and when you can accept that power then you can do something about it. Life is rarely a smooth progression of achievement. Frequently we have roadblocks that frustrate us no end and we get stuck. Stuck in ruts of habits, feeling sorry for ourselves and we even believing that we have no choice or opportunity that could possibly come our way. If we are fortunate, someone or something will come along and bust up our mediocre thinking, maybe making us angry and forcing us to take action.
Martin Short, an actor is a good example. "It was easier to say I couldn't do something than to try it and fail. I'd created boundaries based on fear of failure. We do it all the time. Sometimes those boundaries are broken down by ourselves, sometimes they are broken down by a force greater than ourselves." Martin's acting career was in the dumps until he realized that he could take his comedy routines that he did at parties and blend them into his stage performances.
Within a few days we'll be celebrating a wonderful day Valentine's Day a holiday dedicated to love. While you are remembering that special person in your life, think of yourself as well. Give yourself a big hug of appreciation. Accept that you are a part of this great experience called 'life', meant to express your 'infinite possibilities' in 'infinite ways'. Know that 'opportunities' may come in unexpected guises and you just need to 'be prepared' to receive them when they arrive.
May your 'infinite self' experience wonderful adventures that only exploration into the unknown can bring. Donna Seebo

Chatting with my mother-in-law I asked, "Have you heard of this company that takes the cremated ashes of your loved one and then compresses the carbon into a diamond?"
"Yes," she said, smirking. "It brings a whole new meaning to the phrase 'family jewels.'"

KISS AWAY CAVITIES
Have heard the rumors? Research shows they are true! Kissing does make your
smile more beautiful! How? By increasing saliva production, which, in turn, washes
bacteria off your teeth, protecting against tooth decay and gum disease. This report
comes from researchers at the Academy for General Dentistry.
Hm,m,m,m,m.this may have a substantial impact on trips to the dentists office and
think of all of those 'sparkling' smiles as a result of this study. I like it.

GOLDEN NUGGETS
True Stories About Real People
It's 1931. A young couple wanted to move to a small town that had four very important things, a good school for their children, a church, a doctor, and opportunity to start a pharmacy business.
After a lot of research they determined that Wall, South Dakota was the place to be. Their friends and family thought they were a little crazy. After all, Wall was in nowhere land, between the Black Hills and the Badlands of South Dakota.
Their first year was horrible. Terrible winds, dust storms, and intense heat made life miserable. Travelers, frustrated with the unpleasant elements, would drive through Wall, passing the pharmacy, wanting to get to a more friendly destination as quickly as possible.
The young couple Ted and Dorothy Hustead observed this and got an idea. They put up a sign, with large letters, that said "Free Ice Water at Wall Drugstore". They made a lot more signs, saying the same thing, and posted them farther and farther outside of the community of Wall.
Eventually those simple signs were seen in Korea, Europe, India, Egypt and even the North Pole! They advertised the luxury of 'free' ice water and 4,000 to 6,000 customers a day would stop at their Wall drugstore. They fulfilled their dream and then some by being creative,
expanding their dream and believing in what they were doing. It works! The size of success is determined by the size of your belief.
